I'm an Asian American but I was adopted and raised by an old White man who lived in Europe most of his adult life. The only Asian culture I got when I was growing up was going to Asian restaurant once a month. The rest of the time he cooked French food at home and I helped him. When we ate out it was usually a 4 stars French, German, Spanish, or Italian restaurants. I know more about European traditions, cultures, and values than I know about Asian or American cultures, traditions, and values.

Well, the different religions have a big influence on the culture and of course the poverty level. But if you are staying in a nice area, then, don't know. One way to find out is read missionary stories. They tell you all sorts of things. That's what I do. Missionaries really dedicate their lives and go places where no one else would go. If you want to know about Egypt, read, "Secret Believers." by brother Andrew. You can find out about different countries through Open Doors ministry http://www.opendoorsusa.org. VOM will tell you about the things going on with the North Koreans, & China, etc. They both tell you a lot about many countries actually. http://www.persecution.com/

HAHAHA this is the second question I've seen. Damn! Do you and Jack B. live in the same city or something? First of all, don't make generalizations about Asians. I am Asian and I don't think I'm better than anyone. Some Asians (operative word being some) try to be white, but don't use them as a representation of every single Asian out there.

If you wanted a straight answer, that was it. Honestly, I can write pages about this, but this 'racist' bs is getting pretty banal.

    Doljabi (Doljanchi)

The baby is propped up at a table of various foods and an assortment of objects and urged to pick up one of the items. It is believed the item the baby picks up symbolically foretells his or her own future or would influence his or her fate.

On the table are usually money, a large bundle of thread, rice, and a pencil. If the baby picks money, it means he or she is going to be wealthy. Rice means the baby will never have to go hungry throughout life, which was a very important aspect when people often suffered from famines. The baby will live a long life with thread and be a scholar by picking a pencil.

Now some parents put a computer mouse on the table, which means the success in the high-tech field, or a toothbrush, hoping that the baby will be a dentist.

Well first, talk about bycatch. Bycatch is when fishermen either fish excess fish, or fish species that they didn't need to fish, then just throw the dead fish back into the water. Then you can talk about the reproduction of certain species, and how we are fishing so much that the species can't replenish themselves. Also, talk about how people usually fish the larger, older individuals, leaving fish that are too young to breed. Connect this all, and eventually the oceans will run out of fish. About dolphins, that is a malpractice. Whaling is banned, and it is wrong.

If you are really fascinated to taste asian cultures, the ideal place to discover these is India. There you will find many different cultures,Gujarati,Sikhs,Punjabis,Bengali,Nepali etc.My ancestors were from India but I was born in Mauritius where there is a mixture of Asian culture too.But even if I am born Hindu,I would not advise you to follow the Hindu culture.Wanting to discover a religion and practising it are two different things!I have known Hinduism,Christianity by being part of them once and please note,am only 19,but then I found the truth. If you want to learn and practise a culture or religion,it is Islam.I am not being biased but I did a lot of research on the net and in books!I wanted to discover the truth and when I found it,I followed it!
